THE CREATORS
Mother and daughter team from Tasmania, Julie Hall and Jayne England, dreamed for several years of creating a unique series and product range for young children. Their dream is now a reality!
With experience as both a grandmother and mother, they understood that animals hold an enormous appeal to young children and in particular, farmyard animals. Hence, Dale and Friends was born.
Julie’s long-held desire and passion to write children’s books has formed the basis of introducing the four main characters pictured below.
Jayne vividly recalls her early childhood years living on a farm where she developed a rapport with, and love for all animals. She bottle and hand fed orphaned lambs and calves, cared for young sheepdog puppies and fed chickens, ducklings and piglets during those years. This range is close to her heart and she is excited to also share it with her own young children.
Julie and Jayne envisaged their characters as realistic, but still really cute and appealing. Their illustrator, Kim Woolley, has brought the characters to life and her illustrations capture the essence of farm life in beautiful, brightly coloured pages and artwork.
